Do you think someone like Foreman or Lewis would allow themselves to be jabbed ****** all night? They'd do something, even if it was wrong, just to try and create a chance to land something. Chagaev isn't at that skill level, though he is one of the better opponents out there. I do think Haye would've made a more exciting fight of it, by far, but I also think he'd have ended the fight staring at the boom microphone (when he woke up) after just a few rounds. But he's a little slicker, a little quicker, and is willing to take chances.
I can agree with that. But it doesn't change the fact that Wlad's style is boring at heart. Jabbing to keep a guy at a distance doesn't really equate to much action or entertainment. Even Manny Stewart criticizes him for being boring and too "safety first".

Tell me this, would you watch Wlad-Chagaev again for fun?
Probably not, I'd rather rewatch Byrd-Klitshcko II or the Brock fight...

See those were entertaining fights because Wlad went for the kill. It's when he's tentative and just let's the guy hang in there that annoys me. Let's be real, he probably could've taken out Chagaev in the 4th or 5th.

The germans found Sven Ottke entertaining. Now they got the klit's. Need I say more?

Why do germans like guys from the former Soviet Union so much? I never got this, why don't nthey get behind their own fighters?

Several imports have made it big in Germany. Abraham, Klit's, Sturm etc. I think the eastern europeans are generally tougher because they come from poverty (not the klits obviously, but in general), much like yesterdays american champions came from the slum of New York, philly and Chicago.

Add also that the succesful imports generally have been great in adapting Germany as their new foster-home by learning the language and costums.

And finally the german promotors has done an outstanding job of promoting the fighters.

Lol. I watched nearly all his fights in the vain hope that he would be KTFO. I cant stand his ugly mug.
