Is Miguel Cotto still the same fighter?

or do you think he's declined significantly?

    Please discuss.

It's hard to tell at this point..We've only seen him against Jennings and Clottey after the Margarito war!..the key factors with that is..Jennings was just a Eurobum with a good record..and Cotto still had Evangelista..like he had his ENTIRE CAREER!..and Cotto seemed to be the SAME BEAST!..he looked a bit cautious but then he haunted his pray and SMASHED him!..

Then you have the Clottey battle..where Cotto brings in this no name ass trainer..a new cutman and had just dealt with a physical altercation with his uncle which made him go train in FL..no matter who you are and how composed you may seem..that is A LOT of DISTRACTIONS!..and that's the last thing you need when coming up to a fighter like Clottey!..

On top of the fact that it is hardly impossible to just TRUCK Clottey..Cotto did look good in the first couple rounds..even doing the unthinkable and putting Clottey on his ass WITH A JAB!..then the headbutt came..and he looked BAD!..he went back to those bad habits the ones that broke him down against Margarito..but that's his act of urgency! the Margarito fight he had a broken nose and in the Clottey fight he had a HUGE gash..and they both are HUGE PRESSURE FIGHTERS!..

So it's too early still to tell..he needs a decent corner and stay away from those damn distractions than we can see where he stands..if he's the same or not..that's what I think..

Gotta see his next fight before we make the call on this. Nobody is gonna look sensational against Clottey. Not a crime to have a rough time wit him.

I think he is, his last figh he was badly cut for 8 rounds but still kep the momentum going. It was more of aquestion of was hisheart still there. which it evidently is.

Nacho Beristain although a great trainer just feels salty that DLH and Marquez both gotten beat by the filipino star.

i think he is. he was looking good before the cut happen. he got to do something with his corner tho. joe really dissapointed me, and the cutman really ******, if he had his old cutman that cut would have been a lot better. cotto would have to go back to his pressure style if he wants to beat manny. thats the only way i see him winning this fight,if he lets manny put the pressure on him he will loose

no he is not the same but he is sure not shot thats for dam sure.from what i read on boxing scene he is consider a underdog against pac man. i think this fight going to bring the hunger back in cotto and get back the mental state we have seen before.
