how can u say that?
let's see this other scenario:
Bruseles, gatti, hatton at 147, baldomir, judah (+ or -)
who is the unproven??
Kostya Tszyu -prime vs prime at 140 tough match for cotto
Floyd Mayweather Jr. no balls to get in the ring
Manny Pacquiao- we'll know in Nov 14

Originally posted by BattlingNelson View PostYeah, but Tszyu had an outstanding AM background. I saw him multiple times as an AM-fighter and he was one of the best from the sovjet boxingschool so he was in a way seasoned boxer when he made his professional debut.
It is rare still that a boxer starts his pro career as tough as Tszyu did. I can think of a few though in DLH , Leon Spinks and perhaps Sven Ottke, who defeated Brewer in his fight no. 13
Tszyu was an amazing amateur boxer and it is possible that he saw his best days before he ever began his professional boxing career. Those who have seen him fight both as a professional and as an amateur may notice that he later fell in love with his power a little bit as most big punchers do.
I'm not sure if I'd rate Tszyu even top 3 at LWW. Pryor, Chavez, Cervantes and Locche could be rated above him. "Kid" Berg, Barney Ross, Tony Canzoneri, Duilio Loi and Eddie Perkins also had success at 140 lbs.
