Oscar's prior fight was at 160, which indeed he didn't look great it but he was great at 154.
Trinidad was a certified middleweight champion and if it wasn't for hopkins, tito would have been king at 160.
So lets use trinidad. Ok, that's one "welterweight."Comment

What welterweights did hopkins exactly fight?

For me it's close between toney & hopkins, toney though should get faulted a tad because he just got fat and kinda forced himself into the HW division. Still, people often overlook how difficult it is for someone to be successful at HW with a smaller body frame like toney.
Hopkins though NEVER took an easy fight after a loss. All these other guys have tune ups hopkins hasn't fought a tune up in around or more than 10 years. After losing to taylor, he went up in weight to fight the man at light heavyweight and ring champ. After losing closley to calzaghe, hopkins takes on the 26 year old undisputed champ in kelly pavlik. All of this over the age of 40 years old.
To me I gotta go with Hopkins, narrowly.
Calzaghe isn't even in the race to be honest, I just wanted to see if anyone would vote for him. He waited 15 years or whatever before he took on a challenge in lacy then fought two 40 year olds. hahaComment

Oscar was at 154 for 4-5 years before moving up to 160 and fighting Strum. He then fought Hopkins at a catweight of 158 (hopkins weighed in at 156, oscar weighed 155.
So no, Oscar wasn't a welterweight.
Trinidad also wasn't a welter, he fought at 154 for several fights and then became a champion at 160 pounds.
You can say his best work was at 147, but he was not a welterweight when bernard beat him. Bernard did his job in unifying all of the belts at 160 and tito owned one of them, so I cant see why you would fault hopkins there for beating a legitimate champ at 160.
OPavlik a MW whom he fought at 170.

Calzaghe is naturally bigger than hopkins and pavlik is exactly the same size as hopkins.Comment
