Mayweather says money was the issue for not fighting margarito....it was?
so mayweather go the SAME amount of money to fight the lineal welterweight champ?

how is that a bad decision?

Floyd is p4p because he beats bigger dudes. Started super feather went all the way to JMW capturing titles and beating Oscar on Oscar's terms.

Who would you fight for 8 mill and a title?
Baldomir had the WBC belt and jus beat Gattin his backyard and Judah in his backyard.

Yea an incredible workrate against cab drivers...he couldn't lay a glove on P. Will for the first 6-7 rounds...and Floyd doesn't need to KO some1 to win

The WBO is a worthless title (Marg won it when it was vacant) compared to the LINEAR welterweight title. Baldy had just beat Judah, who was a better win than anyone on Marg's resume at that point.

And you are clearly biased, and Marg got the **** kicked out of him by the more wild, older Mosley.
Floyd would have outclassed him with ease and not had the linear title.
            Pointless.

To be fair though Baldy had the most recognized crown and was coming off back to back T.V appearances witch would help the fight sell on PPV. Chain of events helped make it happen. If Zab would have shown up against Baldy it would have been a whole different story.

A lot of people look back and just say Tony is better than Baldy witch is obvious but I think the climate at the time demanded Floyd to fight Baldy more so than Tony.
I was referring to his whole title run. Margarito had already been champ for almost 5 years when Floyd came into the mix. FIVE YEARS. Ridiculous, right? Margarito has always been in the cold simply because no one wanted to fight him. It didn't make sense for Zab to fight Baldomir - he couldn't even sell out the Garden. But just like Arum is doing by putting his fighters together (and keeping Mosley out in the cold) was the same way Don King wouldn't DARE have one of his fighters (Judah, Mayorga, Spinks, etc) face Margarito. Simple.

Margarito aint on the level of any of them guys and Pryor was dying to fight Leonard but Leonard wasn't having that...

Neither Baldomir or Margarito are elite fighters...

Antionio Margarito is not, and never was, the "best." His best win at that point was over Cintron. He was a relativly unknown fighter who then lost to Paul Williams shortly after.
                    Weak argument.
