There have been hasty reports - simply based on one quote that the two huge heavyweights swapped comments at Boris Becker’s wedding reception - that Vitali Klitschko and Nikolai Valuev will now meet in September, in a mouthwatering heavyweight unification clash of the titans.
By implication, they have reported, it leaves David Haye out in the cold, sans fight, sans broadcaster deal, given the demise of Setanta Sports this week. The sports broadcaster went off air in the UK on Tuesday morning.
But I am hearing that behind the scenes, the prospect of Haye facing V Klitschko in September is still very much on the cards, with Sky Sports interested. Watch this space…
