nah, the check hook is pretty standard, but it takes good timing to pull it off.

Check the replay. It was clear that the check hook sent him down. It was perfect.

Look at Flickers you tube clip
you can clearly see that Floyds left foot was on the outside of Zas right foot
he got caught clean with that hook
              should have been a knockdown
              oh well
props to floyd for coming back solving the puzzle getting past the low blow and the fiasco and beating Zab

It's amazing how that one punch brought such an obscure term, the 'check hook' into the collective conscience of the mass'. Prior to that punch, I'd never heard anyone make references to a Check hook in my life, now 50yr women know what the term refers to. Hell, Floyd's probably known for that more so than his leaping lefts or straight rights.

The video is now private. Too much hype for one punch.

Roy Jones Jr hands with his hands behind him, used the Dim Mak , tapped a fool right in the back of the ear and dropped him

Let's not forget that Manny Pacquiao steam rolled that same guy from the second the bell rung, speaking of ringing bells, Manny cleaned that boys clock in under two rounds.
