**** the WBA. Pretty sure Val is super duper champ, Chag is champ in recess, and Ruiz is eternal champ. And comin off a bad KO loss I doubt he gets any big fight right away, even if the loss was to Wlad. Probably some time off to rest, then a tuneup before he gets back in the title mix.

Pity in a way it seems it will be Vitali fighting Valuev, rather than Wlad. If it had been Wlad, and he beat BOTH Valuev and Chagaev even the WBA would have to hand him the belt and get rid of all the confusion once and for all.

Chagaev will likely retire as Ibragimov did. Because of the one-sided nature of the fight, he knows he can never be the real heavyweight champion. There is clearly a big gap in Wlad's ability and his.

He may return with a warm-up in the fall, but I doubt it.

So really, even if Vitali grabs the belt, the WBA will just go around handing out more belts like candy to other bums. They've probably got a reserve belt for Valuev if he loses - as a replacement, y'know?

I agree. Would have been easier if it was Wlad.

Still has anyone read anything reagrding the WBA's position on the matter?
