fighters that dont stop throwing punches = jones lying on the ropes all night giving rounds away losing a ud or getting knockedout on accumulation of punishment

He'll clearly never be what he once was. He might have it in him to win 1 more belt tho. I may be goin to his next fight.

Practically been past it since he came back down from HW imo, so yeah i think he is done at a good level, not that i dont mind seeing him vs the likes of Sheika owning them.

but the fight with sheika is schooled sheika..

seems to me..jones would sell a loss for $$ with known fighters but not with bums

watch him come out landing shots on lacy like he did tito and sheika
            Yep..... I think he'd beat B/Hop tomorrow.....

He's done at the elite level of the sport. Sure he can still fight competitively and beat some fighters on the lower end of the top ten lists at 168 and 175 but he's no longer a player at the elite level of the game where he once dominated.

I think he can still fight just not against the very best.

at this point he's a few spots above a gatekeeper.

and its not a knock of RJJ. I think he's a fantastic fighter and theres nothing wrong with him...he's just getting older...his reflexes arent what they were (that showed in the calzaghe fight as he was often beat to the punch and unable to defend punches at certain points) and he tires far more quickly now.

bu as i said...ITS NOT A KNOCK ON RJJ.

should he retire? he very well could because in my eyes (and most other boxing fans and media would agree) he's already sealed his legacy. At this point he has nothing more to prove...could he try? sure. would i root him on and hope for something amazing like hopkins did to pavlik? no question.

he can still fight though...he'd stop these young contenders or school them pretty well...no doubt about that...

I do agree that the destroying of his body coming down from heavyweight has some negative effect on him...but i like to think that if he had a more disciplined boxing style to fall back on after his super-human reflexes started to fade away he would still be able to beat elite fighters...cus i mean **** back in the 90s it seemed like he saw everything in slow motion...someone can correct me if im wrong but in the calzaghe fight all i can seem to remember was him trying to catch joe with one punch, especially that signature leaping right hand..it was so sad watching him trying to perform like the old roy jones but his body not allowing it
