It's unfortunate, because I don't think Guzman can fully resurrect his career. A damn shame.

I remember him, and still follow his career.

He really messed his career up with the weight problem for the Campbell fight.

But he had a chance to get it going again against Judah, but he turned that down, too.

I know Zab isn't quite the superstar he once was, and has been the pun of many boxing jokes as of late.

But he's still a recognizable name, and one that Guzman could've beaten easily.

I have no idea why he turned that down.

Whats stopping him from getting a fight @135 w/ Moses, Katsidis, Casamayor, or Reyes?

I would guess he's afraid of losing his 0. A lot of fighters are like that nowadays that aren't down to take chances to be great and find themselves irrelevant. Look at Floyd Jr.

I might be inclined to agree with you, but... people who are scared to lose their 0's generally don't fight high risk low reward opponents like Barrios and Soto.

Guzman's problem is that he wants to go straight to the belt holders

Well said, or don't go looking for Bradley or Juan Diaz. Guzman should face whoever, be it bum, decent or good fighter.

Guzman is also getting a bit older now; I think he is 33 or 34 now. Damn shame he was a great fighter to watch when he was fighting down super featherweight. I'd like to see him again and see if he still has his alien reflexes/hand speed.
