**** Hatton, he cost me 65 dollars. That damn PPV was crap and he decided on going to sleep early. I hope he fights Floyd Sr. I bet that old man would own him.

A comeback from defeat, of course.

I hope he doesn't though. I think he's probably shot.

There is no way he would have been dropped with those shots back in his heyday - might have even got up from the KO shot... Can't see the worth in him fighting again TBH - he's never going to get another shot at one of the elite's again and I honestly couldnt see him winning at that level anymore. If I was him I would fight a bum in Manchester to sign off with a win.
I think Ricky just underestimated Manny's power, and felt he could KO Manny with 1 shot. Manny threw a hell of a lot of power shots and Ricky took most of them, but he was just far too open. I don't think his punch resistance has gone all that much, its just the speed and southpaw stance of Manny caused Ricky a complete nightmare - he couldn't see the shots coming. If you don't see the shots coming, you're gonna feel it more.

Ricky just needs to take what he learns in the gym into the ring. With a tighter defence he could cause guys at the top problems. He even had some success in the 2nd round against Manny. I think its impossible to tell if he's completely shot at this point, as the fight against Manny was so quick. He needs a tune up fight against average opposition to see what he really has left.

10 years later..."Ricky Hatton is still hinting on a comeback fight after his devastating loss to Manny Pacquiao on May 2, 2009 via 2nd round TKO"

I want him to come back, it's good for the sport because he has a large fan base and is probably the most popular fighter in the UK even with his loss to Pacquiao.

Awesome, Ricky still has plenty of steam left and he's good for boxing. Hatton has only lost to two A+ fighters and as long as he can beat top contenders and champions he should fight until his hearts content. However if Hatton ever loses to an inferior opponent then he should retire.

            WAR HATTON!

I dont think he underestimated his power..i mean mp is known for his speed and knockout power..i think it was just a bad styles match up for hatton...maybe if he came in with a different approach instead of lunging in he would of lasted longer

Yeah, I meant his power at 140 which was unknown. Plus with ODLH telling Ricky that Pac doesn't hit hard, I think Ricky thought he could steam roll him.

There's nothing more lame then a fan turning his back on one of his favorite boxers when they're defeated. Boxing is unpredictable which is part of the excitement of this great sport as are losses. Very few great champions ever retire undefeated.

I really think Ricky should give it up. His punch resistance was a vital part of his game and that seems pretty much gone to me now. He has had a good career and will make the HOF, he should be content with that now and ride off into the sunset before he gets seriously hurt.
