Watch the fight bud, Foreman was pushing the fight and making Ali go backwards pretty much the entire fight.

Bottom line is, Floyd fights good on his backfoot from countering, but he's not a standout IMO

Aren't we talking about fighters fighting backwards? And Whittaker was a really counter puncher as well. Have you seen him fight before?

No. He doesn't get hit and makes his guy not only chase him down, but he makes them miss and pay. Alot of top fighters out there simply cannot be effective while moving backwards at all. Floyd can and he lures people into a game of cat and mouse that everyone that plays it with him loses. I think the combo of moving and making people miss wears them down quickly and during this Floyd lands "CLEAN EFFECTIVE PERCISE" shots. Whitaker defensively was about equal or possibly better, but Whitaker had very little offense at money weights and that cost him. I.E. De La Hoya couldn't even hit him but Whitaker didn't land enough impressive shots to take Oscar's "o" at that time. I still feel Sweet pea won the fight and will openly tell anyone that he won regurdless of the fact that Osacr got a UD in a fight where he couldn't even find his man the whole fight.

I saw him get hit plenty by Hatton and Judah in the first few rounds, he is not that great going backwards, but yes he can run like the wind because that is what it's called, running right? When cotto does it, it's called running remember so let's keep the term in clear perspective. Floyd did so much running against Hatton, brothers from Kenya wanted to challenge him to a marathon race in 2008 If fighters did not chase him, there would be no fight. The best way to beat Floyd is to run from him while he runs from you and then in the final 10 seconds of the fight, just unload on Floyd and you can win the fight
