Cotto fighting at 160 against a guy weighing at most 147 on fight night is more than fair to me.

Fair would be to meet half way though. In this case, Cotto has the better end of the deal since 2 pounds is not going to be a huge factor. Unless they really want to streatch the rehydration processes.

Are both titles on the line?

Not fair for Pacquiao cuz he has to move up 5 pounds while cotta only gotta go down 2 pounds.

You think their is something wrong with that yet their was a bigger weight difference between Oscar/Floyd. And Guzman/Soto aswell. Floyd was the smaller fighter in that fight, and won. Soto was the smaller fighter and lost but not because of size because Guzman still fought his hit and run style even being much bigger then Soto!

Skills win fights, not size entirely

He is getting the bigger check, so he is happy. Both are big draws, so I guess Cotto getting the weight advantage is only fair since he is getting cheaped on the money right now with it being 65/35. Probably should have been like 60/40 for Pacquiao, but I guess the weight was part of the contract so 65/35 may stick.

Indeed, 144 should have bin the magic number.

It seems to be unfair for both, so it must be fair.

It's about as fair as you can get for the fight. Although... the weight isn't really the best for Cotto though

Sounds ok, but I still say if this has to happen, Pac should want it at 147, full fledged. I just don't get the point to a fight where the winner can't get full cred.

Cotto said he is comfortable with 145 lbs. His admission means we must all agree.

The catchweight is valid because Manny is at a disadvantage. To level the playing field, Miguel should be forced to train extra harder for this fight. It's not unreasonable to give Cotto an extra challenge if Pacquiao is willing to fight well above his maximum weight class.
