What Difference Would 2 Pounds Make?

I heard Freddie Roach said he will settle for 145 pounds against Cotto! Why not just make it 147 pounds then? Then the fight could be for Cotto's WBO Welterweight Title! Giving Pac the opportunity to become a 5 weight world champion. I'm not a boxer but I think if you can make 145, why not 147? He made 147 against De La Hoya and he looked amazing in that fight so surely he can do it again!

    My exact question.

If the 145 limit wont affect Cotto why they dont make it at 147.

I mean Cotto wont be affceted at 145, right?

2 pounds is all that matters for a huge Cotto fan to ask for odds on a bet lol

I think of it this way... These guys already kill themselves to just barely make their weight at the time of the weigh ins. Then you're asking them to cut an entire 2 - 4 more pounds when they have no fluid or fat to cut. Just a thought

2 pounds does make a lot of difference when you start cutting water. They should make the fight at 147lb. I don't agree with setting things up so one fighter can be at a disadvantage.

Fight at the place where you're both best in my honest opinion. Pacquiao has no problem making 147lbs and would be no weaker there, 147lbs is Cotto's home. If Cotto has to drop in weight it may weaken him.

I personally wouldn't sign the contract. Though if I was Pacquiao I would rather fight Cotto at 147lbs so people don't actually question my victory.

Should just happen at 147, I think Manny would still win at 147. I think Freddie Roach should let Manny choose the weight! I'm sick of Roach talking, he needs to shut the **** up even though he is a great trainer. I want to hear the fighter speak about the weight.

145 not the best weight for Manny (his best at 140).
145 not the best weight for Cotto (his best at 147).

145 not the best weight for either fighter.

That's the truth. Stop whining. Let'em fight now.
