  • Is pulling out of fights the new trend?

Whats the deal with everyone now adays? I dont know what it is but this pulling out of fights crap is ruining this year of boxing! The newest member of this trend is Chris john who was supposed to rematch rocky juarez. Lets not forget Mayweather, Haye, Forrest are just afew that have backed out of good fights this year. I have been watching boxing since I was 10 years old and I have to say this is getting bad. Would this be happening if it was in the 70s or the 80s? Just something to think about. YEAH IT'S PISSIN ME OFF...Quintana pulled out of his FNF slot last week,Alvardo pulled out on Maliggnag,Pavlik vs Mora. Whatever the reasoning it's getting RIDICULOUS. These guys are becoming like whiny-little girls with all these B.S. pullouts.

They're warriors but they're not showing it right now.

**** happens. Just like a couple years ago in the fall of 2007, fights are getting postponed and cancelled.

Sometimes it's legit, sometimes it's for other reasons. Roberto Duran's team (Carlos Eleta) didn't want him to fight an old Carlos Ortiz at the garden, apparently they weren't happy with his preparation, so they made up an excuse about him being sick. Mike Tyson kept pulling out of a title defense against Razor Ruddock. The official reasons were injury and illness I believe, but Tyson later said it was just because he was in condition to fight, he wasn't training. There's always been speculation on Tyson pulling out of the scheduled Evander Holyfield fight in 1991 was really injured ribs or just the distraction of the **** trial coming up. Sugar Ray Robinson used to pull out of fights all the time for various reasons.

It's nothing new, and bound to happen when you're working out all the time, or because of the shady business nature of the sport.

Guzman vs Campbell was pretty upsetting to me.

It certainly seems that we are going through a period of this happening a lot right now. Pretty annoying.

I'm glad Quintana pulled out. Carlos Molina is the man!
