Closest thing to ali? no. never. not even close.

However i will say this Wlad hasnt been challenged as of late. he's steamrolled top heavyweights as if they were tune-up fights. Ruslan made wlad LOOK really great yesterday afternoon but he's no ali nor is he any other heavyweight great of the past...he's just a really good smart fighter.

He could have beat ruslan with just a jab...instead he painted him with 1, 2's all night and even a few left hooks...even hooked off the jab a couple times.

Wlad has turned into (in my eyes) the top heavyweight in the sport that doesnt seem to be able to find a good enough fight lately that really pushes him to dig deep.

in essence he's the king of a divison that has really fallen into the ground since the the glory days...50's till the 90's...after guys like tyson, holyfield, and lewis the division was never the same again.
