    welcome to boxing

Ali was 6'2 and didn't have a tremendous reach advantage over his opponents. he used the speed of his jab and his quick reflex head movement to avoid punches. Wlad does use his jab as well but, a lot of the time he just sticks his arm out to keep his opponent at distance without actually throwing a normal jab. Ali was also a lot more active during a fight.

The only thing wlad has over ali is punching power. besides that, ali has every other advantage as far as speed and boxing skills are concerned.

your comparison of the 2 fighters is mind boggling.

Ali and Klitschko don't belong in the same sentence.

Klitschko is a good technical boxer for his size, but he chooses not to engage in an actual fight (when in reality he actually can if he wanted to).

Ali was on a whole other level. Speed, Power, Mind Games, Trash talking, Heart...he had it all.

Wlad is too much for Ali, Ali would QUIT.

Most of you Klitschko huggers are a pathetic bunch.

Once Wlad faces some ATGs, gets the fastest hands, learns to dance, and take a punch then you can start to compare them, but I still wouldn't

I'm not a nuthugger as you call me, just a boxing fan with her own opinions.

He has fast hands and great footwork and can dance. His chin isn't as good and he can only beat who is around at the time.

Early Ali was considered a big fast heavyweight for his time, who beat opponents behind a jab and right hand, had great footwork and was very elusive and beat opponents without wanting to get hit. He only engaged in hard fights after his 3 year exile when he had slowed down.

Wlad is like an early Ali, if he was more willing to trade and had a better chin he would be a carbon copy of Ali.

What do you think of Ali's defense? I think Wlad has him beat in that category as well. Ail's defense was his speed and movement, but he kept his hands down entirely too much.

He doesn't really fight like Ali though, Wlad fights tall behind the jab where as Ali used a lot of lateral movement with his hands down low. Wlad keeps his hands high, Ali would move his head straight back from punches but had such great reactions at his best that he didn't get hit, the only real similarity is they both have very good jabs but even then they have a different type of jab Ali would throw an up jab where as Wlad paws or pumps out the jab.

Its clear you have a lofty opinion of him, but its not accurate in the least. Wlad is not quick on his feet and is not fluid whatsoever.

He is what he is, a giant fighting in a terrible HW era. And Ali had a variety of styles that he could adopt. He could move on his feet, he could stand in the pocket and fight inside, fight on the ropes. Wlad is a one trick pony.
                  Jab jab right. All night.

The only resemblances I see is that they both have good jabs aside from that. There is no comparison. Not only in pedigree but in fighting style.

Ali threw hooks, uppercuts, body shots. I'm not sure if Wlad knows any punches outside his 1 2. But he doesn't need to, the divisions so pathetic most guys can be beat with basic skills.

Heavyweight yeah, Pound for Pound... no, that's Sugar Ray Robinson... even Ali admitted that. Also, Wlad is a great champion in his own right... even though the division isn't very talented he continues to just beat everyone that's put in front of him and dominate the division he fights in... nobody can blame him for that and can only respect him. But, sorry... he isn't close to Ali.

Wlad pulls his head back like Ali used to, he also moves well on his feet like Ali. I think Wlad does many thing like Ali but just not as exageratted as much as Ali did. If you understand what I'm trying to say.
