USA Boxing updates:
California Border (Local Boxing Committee 44)
Important Notes:
1. Boxers will not be allowed to box unless they have completed their USA Boxing registration at least ½ hour prior to the applicable scheduled weigh-in time. Registrations are conducted by Mr. Carlos Barragan Sr. at the Community Youth Athletic Center (CYAC) gym in National City from 4:30 PM to 7 PM Monday thru Friday, by Mr. Willard White from 5 to 7 PM the second Wednesday of each month at Encinitas Boxing Club in Encinitas, and Mr. Ruben Garcia at La Gente Boxing Club in Brawley throughout the year.
2. Boxer’s coaches are encouraged to set-up “pre-matches” by calling the applicable venue “Contact” prior to scheduled bout.
3. Boxer pairings are setup to service “pre-matches” first, followed by boxers weigh-in on a first-come first-serve basis. The later the boxer arrives for a weigh-in, the less chance he/she has of obtaining a bout.
4. Coaches/Boxers/Physician/ Event Planners & Sanction Holders = 5 hours shall be allocated between the start of weigh-ins and the start of the first bout. Please schedule the Doctors to arrive 1.5 hours prior to the first bout, to conduct weigh-in physicals [ for the success of the show, please do not schedule more than 2 doctors for a venue !!!! ].
5. HANDWRAPS {yes – again!} = Only the following substances may be used on the hands, in USA BOXING events [Per USA BOXING RULE # 103.5]: Cotton/Surgical gauze { 2” wide x 15 yards MAX.}, with 1” x 6’ of adhesive tape – per hand OR Velpeau {All weights, up to 2.5 meters[8’ by 2-1/4”]}, with 1” x 8” adhesive tape around the wrist. No substitutes, no elastics, polyesters or other fabrics – THEY WILL BE REJECTED BEFORE GLOVES ARE INSTALLED!
