Am I Insane For Thinking That Shane......?

could go up to MW right now and possibly pull a Pac-Oscar on Pavlik? I dont think it will be near as bad as Pac-Oscar but I could see Mosley doing some of the same things. I think he would probably weigh-in at 154 and I could see him out quicking Pavlik while also being strong enough to maybe hurt Kelly and take a few shots of his own. I dont think Shane is a MW at all or could do well there but this matchup just seems like it could be made for him. I will say this, no matter if Shane wins or loses in the next fight or 2, I think he should "try" to go out with a **** and win a MW title. That would solidify his greatness and I think he could do it. What do you guys think? I think it would be tight and Pavlik would win 5-7 rounds but maybe Shane could also win 5-7 rounds

Come to think of it. No you're not insane. Hard fight for him because of Pavliks height, but I wouldnt count him out of it.

Arum doesn't seem confident in Pavlik's ability to beat Paul Williams or Arthur Abraham. And I imagine he doesn't have confidence in Pavlik against Shane as well. I'll be suprised if this fight ever happens. Arum probably views it as too much as a risk for his cash cow. And Pavlik's stock has already taken a horrible plummet by losing to a 43 year old man coming off a loss to Calzaghe. Just think how bad Pavlik would look if he got beat by a Welterweight who is in the twilight of his career.

My line of thinking was that if a journeyman like Jose Luis Zertuche can go 7 or 8 rounds w/ Pavlik, then someone like Shane whose the same size as Zertuche can at least go 12 and hurt Pavlik along the way.

Besides mang, Forrest and Wright are far better fighters than Pavlik imo.

I get a kick out of how so many now think Pavlik is some spindly scared weakling after losing to Hopkins.

Suddenly afraid of everyone even though he took the hard way to the top.

For one, SSM is a really strong guy. Pavlik doesn't throw any hooks, or goes to the body. He needs enough room to throw his 1-2 and SSM might not give him that room. I give Shane a good chance and no you're not insane for thinking this.

Zertuche was a pure contender when he lost to Pavlik. He had powerful hands and was a stong fireball in the ring. Pavlik took the stuffing out of him, but there is no taking away from Zertuche in 2005-2007. He was a tough SOB.

Dont put me in that catagory. Ive told you a million times that I would love to see Shane vs Floyd. Its probably my #1 fight and I still say that if Floyd fights any WW, it would be Shane. I honestly beleive that he wants to fight Shane. I never beleived that he was in a rush to fight Margarito or Cotto(atleast not at WW), but I do think that he wanted Shane because even though Shane is strong, he cant bully Floyd like those other 2 could. Now though, I think Floyd would also fight Cotto. Not because he looks worst but for some reason both Clottey & Cotto looked smaller to me last fight. I made a thread about it after the fight but no one responded. I said it could just seem that way because I havent seen Floyd in a long time and I forgot how small he looks but both of those guys seemed shorter and 10 pounds smaller then I remember them looking in other fights
