True, at least schafer will show you the numbers........Remember that whole fiasco with the numbers from Pac vs Hatton, Arum wouldn't show them because they were less than Pac vs Mayweather, then releases rumors on what the numbers were.

If he says theyre doing good on the ticket sales but couldnt even give at least a specific month on when it will happen is just a dead giveaway that he's bull****ting the people. Being the high-profile promoter, you have to also look into the interest of your paying clientele.

In fairness, he has already said he doesn't know when it will need to be postponed too because they haven't heard from the doctor the date he can be free yet. Let's be fair here and not nit pick.

So according to Schaefer ticketsales was through the roof and the JMM fight is still on at a date TBD.

I don't think they will be through the roof to be honest... I think he could be exaggerating it a bit, maybe it is a bit between... selling decently but not amazingly not terribly either... who knows.

The ticket prices did seem way to high for a comeback fight though to be honest...

• NEW MAYWEATHER DATE? -- Assuming Floyd Mayweather Jr.'s injured ribs heal quickly, his welterweight fight with Juan Manuel Marquez might be rescheduled for Sept. 19 at the MGM.

The original July 18 date was scratched after Mayweather was injured last week in training.

Richard Schaefer, chief executive officer for Golden Boy Promotions, said that date is available for the arena and for HBO, which is scheduled to present the fight on pay per view. Golden Boy promotes Marquez

"Right now, we're waiting to see what the doctor says," Schaefer said. "But I can tell you Floyd and Marquez will fight sometime this year. Whether it's September, October, November, I don't know."

Schaefer also said reports that advance ticket sales were sluggish for the original date were erroneous.

"I have the reports right in front of me, and there have been $5.5 million in sales already," Schaefer said. "That's ahead of the pace that Pacquiao and (Ricky) Hatton did at the same time frame. So all that talk (that) the fight isn't selling is a lot of bull. It's all the Floyd haters making stuff up."

How do you expect him to give a date when he has to get an ok for Mayweather to continue training?

I thought it was funny when Schaefer said Mayweather haters. Hopefully they can get this fight set up again. But after seeing the Clottey-Cotto fight it makes me think that Marquez has to stop Mayweather to beat him. So you Floyd fans will be catching the same backlash if Mayweather does in fact get an unpopular decision like Cotto did.
