This would be majorly disappointing to me if this fight came off. Berto still has much to prove in his career and would be taking a big step in the wrong direction by not fighting the best in his division.

Realistically, he should be trying to fight Cotto, Clottey or Mosley. Those are guys that if he beats them, he winds up garnering a lot of support with the public and the media. If he fights Marquez, it will be another fighter who is blown up out of his natural division and stands a serious disadvantage against a young up-and-comer.

I think Berto is a good fighter but it's telling that Collazo was his only opponent who wasn't hand-picked and he wound up giving Berto a serious run for his money. A lot of people thought Berto lost; I'm not one of them.
