    You have a point there.

To quote Arum himself referring to UFC matchups:

“Do you really think they’re not based on money?” Arum sneered. “What are you, an idiot?”

Seriously, what fight has not been made with the intention of generating the most money? Even if you were to argue that Mosley would generate better numbers Golden Boy would be getting a cut so it's still probably in Arum's best interest to keep it in-house. Not to mention having Cotto in there would ultimately act as a future investment since this fight would make him a mainstream name which would lead to bigger money fights down the line.

LOL@ Shane saying Cotto doesn't deserve big fights??? Who the **** does he think he is?
This guy almost lost to an old, fat, shopworn Mayorga.

Shane's ex wife probably really ****in' him bad for him to act so desperate.

If Mosley doesn't care about money then why doesn't he fight someone else. Of course this fight is about money it's a matchup that's guaranteeing exitement between to fighters with huge fanbases. All of Mosley's bitching is getting on my nerves, this is just getting ridiculous and I'm losing more respect for Mosley by the minute. All his bitching and moaning won't do ****, this fight is as good as made.

If he's lucky Cotto might give him a shot after he beats Pac and beat his whinny ass again. Until then he needs to shut the *** up and find someone else to fight.

MANILA, Philippines - It all boils down to money, and nothing else, all these talk about Manny Pacquiao’s next fight on Nov. 14.

There’s Pacquiao and his master promoter, Bob Arum, on one side, and a pair of welterweight champions on the other.

In between them are millions and millions of dollars.

“There’s a ton of money involved,” said Arum who’s been pushing hard for a Pacquiao-(Miguel) Cotto fight, not only because he enjoys the rights over both boxers, but because he believes it’s going to be a “terrific fight.”

Shane Mosley, who’s with Golden Boy Promotions, begs to disagree.

“I’m frustrated by the situation, that Bob Arum’s just trying to put more money in his pocket,” Mosley told Lance Pugmire of The LA Times yesterday. “If he wants the fight that’s going to make the most money for Pacquiao, then that’s a fight against me.”

“Cotto doesn’t deserve that chance now, but Arum only has one more fight [in his promotional contract] with Cotto, and he needs to put him in a big fight to keep him. So he’s using Pacquiao for that – to throw Cotto a bone.

“Bob Arum makes out, he clears all the money and Cotto will get his $4 to $6 million. This is a fight for Bob Arum, not a fight for the fans or for Pacquiao,” said Mosley, who feels he can give Pacquiao a “better fight” and “more money.”

Negotiations are on, and Pacquiao has said he’s willing to face Cotto at 144 or 145 lb, and not at 142, which his trainer, Freddie Roach, had originally wanted, after watching the pride of Puerto Rico live in action last week.

Cotto looked so slow against Josh Clottey and won by the skin of his teeth. If he gets to fight Pacquiao, the 28-year-old, 5-foot-7 Cotto, might end up the way David Diaz did, a badly-beaten “statue with gloves.”

One of Pacquiao’s advisers, Wakee Salud, said Cotto won’t last seven rounds against Pacquiao, and another said the Filipino light-welterweight champion should win even if the fight is held at 147 lb.

“My point is, let’s make the best fights. What would make more money than Pacquiao and I? Cotto has a Puerto Rican audience in New York, that’s where it stops. I’m big everywhere. A fight with Pacquiao and I would be crazy,” added Mosley.

The pride of Pomona, California is also willing to face Pacquiao at a catch weight of under 147 lb, and said he’d be happy to get 40 percent of everything. Or even less perhaps.

“The fight does not make any sense to me. A fight with me will make more money. I know there have been numbers going on out there like Cotto making five or six million and Manny making 10, 11 or 12. But in a fight with me, he will make more money. Bob Arum is being the puppet master putting this together, but Manny will make more money fighting me,” Mosley said in a separate interview.

“It is the best fight for Bob Arum. Even if you look at Cotto’s gash, do you think it will heal in time? It might just open up again if he fights Pacquiao. The fans need to know that the best and biggest fight in boxing right now is with me,” he added.

Anything can happen in the next few days.

As the old saying goes, money talks in boxing, and Mosley, the WBA champion at 147 lb, won’t stop talking until the Pacquiao-Cotto fight contract is sealed, signed and delivered.

thats right Shane!!!.....keep doin' what you doin' and sayin' what you sayin'.......I keep sayn' Pac-Mosley is the BETTER fight........Cotto should RELAX and heal.......Pac should fight Mosley then Cotto would have a option on Floyd or a rematch with Shane which would make him around the same money he's gettin' for Pac.......Mosley is tellin' it like it is and some people are disgracin' themselves by tryin' to **** on him.......he has EARNED a shot at the top dude........Cotto has fought 4 top dudes.........Shane has fought way more top dudes than Cotto........this isnt about Cotto being unqualified to dance with Manny, because he is......I'm just sayin' Pac-Mosley fight would be better and way more competetive.........Pac's peeps picks the dude who showed the most vulnerabilities of the 2 but will still be supported.......cool........but dont be talkin that BEST **** no more.....SHANE MOSLEY is the BEST WW on the planet.........his resume outshines Cotto's and Floyd's put together.......and I do think he and Pac are the 2 most exciting fighters in their divisions......so make the **** happen!!!!

How soon before Delahoya and B-hop start beating the same drum. Top rank has better fighters top to bottom. They make better fights for their fighters and they don't have to stand in the shadow of a past prime has-been in Delahoya. Mosley has is embarrassed himself with his posturing. Shane being big everywhere is a joke. He needs Jin back to sort his affairs out, he sucks at it.

Shane Mosley needs to STFU!!! I mean he has every right to want this fight because obviously, like everyone else, he wants the most money. He knows Floyd isn't fighting him right now so he wants Pac. Shane has always been one of my favorite fighters but man he's delusional. What he's saying makes no sense and he's just desperate! Unfortunately, he's not a draw. His fight with AM wasn't even on PPV!!! In no way does fighting him bring more money for Pacquiao and in no way is that the fight that boxing fans want. Like it or hate it the fight people want to see is Pac against Floyd Mayweather. Shane please stop critiscizing saying you bring a better fight than Cotto. Cotto is an exciting fight and it will be a very exciting fight if it happens. You can't say Cotto doesn't deserve the fight. I mean Cotto's only loss was to Margarito and that has a cloud over it because of the hand wraps. Mosley lost to Cotto. I understand Shane beat him but he still lost to Cotto. IMO Clottey at the very least deserved a draw against Cotto but it was a hell of a fight that I think made the Pacquiao fight bigger. Here's what I feel happened. GBP plan got messed up by Floyd getting hurt or whatever happened. They wanted Floyd to fight JMM in July then Pacquiao in Nov. and let Shane Mosley have the winner. Why wasn't Shane talking about Pacquiao quite as much before Floyd got hurt? He did at first but I think GBP told him to stay quiet and he will get his shot next year. Now there's an opening and GBP doesn't want to be left out of the equation. That's my feeling on all of this.

Mosley's acting as if his fights are always about the fans. Doesn't want to fight Berto, definitely doesn't want to fight Paul Williams, there was an intereview with OnFire I believe where he said that he was only wanting the "big money fights" at this point. Not that I blame him per se, but he shouldn't act so pious.
