I can tell you one thing FO SHO, no one was making Oscar "The Golden Boy" (aka the face of PPV) De La Hoya do anything that he did not acquiesce too. He agreed to move down in weight and even though people say he was weak, drained, washed up (even though he came close to drawing with Mayweather less than a year or so earlier), the man still had like a 6 inch height advantage and Manny had to literally jump off the ground to hit him flush.

When will the excuses for Pacquiao's wins stop? When he wins titles against super-middle weights and light heavies

The weight excuses for Oscar are BULL**** my man. Oscar was getting trashed in sparring by small southpaw's. He's avoided southpaw's all his career for a reason... he can't fight them. He got blitzed by the fastest southpaw because he had no ****ing clue how to deal with him. The weight excuse is a load of crap.

In 50+ previous pro fights what other concession has pac asked for? Don't worry I'll wait...

The man asks for 2 pounds and he gets all this hate? So don't watch the f'n fight. I understand he's #1 & will be hated on, but really all you guys can find to hate on is the fact that after 50+ pro fights and going into his biggest/strongest opponent he asks for 2 lbs? LOL i'm sorry but that's just plain hate. Try n find something better atleast.

You guys talk like your f'n doctors/nutrionists etc etc. If Cotto signs the f'n contract HE SIGNS THE CONTRACT. You guys crying over 2 lbs just fear pacman winning.

Side note: Cotto weighed 146 for Clottey, if this is at 145 you're going to cry over 1lb? You are in the vast minority. I can promise worldwide pacman WILL get credit. Unfortunately there isn't a human to ever walk the planet that has impressed everyone. pacman's no exception.

I guess he has, but he's done it voluntarily. If he can do it for Oscar (who was considered probably more dangerous for him than Cotto at the time they made the fight) why start w/ the catchweight stuff now?

So I guess we agree...I think.
Hello. Oscar was the golden ticket for how long. he called all the shots. as eric gomez of gbp has said, manny is now in that position where he calls the shots. thankfully for fans manny's a fighter at heart & is willing to go up n fight cotto to begin with. atleast we're seeing pacman consistently fight top opposition. can't ask for more as a fan, but yeah as a hater you can ask for 2lbs sure.
