I don't think a top fighter will fight Cotto at the garden ever again.

The great thing about MSG is you can fit 21k in there whereas the MGM holds something like 16k.

MGM Grand sports a casino. Fight at the MGM = more people come to the casino and spend millions that night = more money than you would generate with a couple extra thousand seats.= More money for the event It isn't rocket science.

I heard Thomas and Mack was a dump. Planet Hollywood can seat 20k.

Either way, they need to build bigger arenas. The huge fights in Vegas can seat more than 30k. It just adds to the atmosphere imo.
