thats cause we take stuff like birthday parties for granted. in poorer countries they dont always get to do the things we do like hav birthday parties

We can all tell how selfish you are.

And how would you know if it wasnt more than just a bday present at the time? Maybe he needed extra money to get by?
You dont know his situation at the time. It's called a sacrifice idiot.

      Post something logical and fair.

Yeah, I'm sure he'll be taking the money back from Gamboa's pocket soon anyway.

If Gamboa sold his gold medal for $1500, then he should be responsible for his acts. I believe Arum is totally ridiculous with his comments, also I believe that any normal birthday party does not cost $1500. If he sold his gold medal, the international organism should not provide anymore, they should give a plastic one as a copy for his original medal. Just imagine every one selling their gold medal, then later on asking for another one.

Gamboa didn't sell it for a selfish profit though and as the poster above said, he might have needed the rest to get by. Either way, this is Bob Arum we're talking about. He might be just trying to get in good with Gamboa, he is a promoter after all.

the IOC would probably not consent with arum.
this will be a precedent the IOC can not allow to happen.
best thing is to buy back that same medal....with interests!
that is a lot easier to do............
