Remember when Kelly Pavlik was "the next big thing" in the US

Holy ****, this guy has completely disappeared in the mainstream. First the loss to Hopkins, no shame in that. But then he faces a near unknown in Rubio on an independent PPV that only the hardcore boxing fans saw. Then he schedules another independent PPV fight that nobody will see, but that gets canceled. This guy went from the next big thing to nothing FAST. I know he is still champion, but that doesn't mean anything when you are fighting bums on ppv. Bob Arum is doing a terrible job promoting him.

By the way, the rumors that he checked into a alcohol rehabilitation center are false.

I think Pavlik didnt disappear, but he is in a middleweight divisions that doesn't have many stars or attractions. Rubio was a good fighter, and he made him quit. Pavlik will be fine and will be back on top after he fights Abraham. Thats my opinion.

He was the next big thing because he beat Taylor. He should fight Winky, Williams, Or Abraham for his next fights. Those all would be great fights.

I remember when Edison Miranda was the considered next Middleweight champion of the world. When Pavlik-Miranda was coming up, an overwhelming majority of people on here were picking Miranda to win it by KO. Me included, not gonna lie.

MAN, do times change or what?

He was exposed and will have a tough time from here on out. The excuses for the fights and has inactivity is Arum trying to find him either an easy pay day or a huge one in a fight he will lose.

Those were the good old days...yeah good times, But arum has done a terrible job with him in the last few fights, Arum was critising Lou dibella for making Jermaine Taylor fight non-credible opponents like Spinks and Ouma but what did Arum did when Pavlik won the championship??? The exact samething....
