If he goes from a fight night weight of say 155 or so to 180 that is about 25lbs between fights not too good...I could see that happening during a long layoff but when he is fihting 2 or 3 times a year as he is looking to do this year I can't see him getting any heavier then 170....With 3 months between fights and at least a 6 week training camp he would not have the time nor would it make sense to have to go up so high to come back down in 3 or weeks that he has off between fights....Lefty

Cotto is a big dude for a short guy. his fight night weight is actually in the 160's, the last time I have seen him unofficially weigh in was a LONG time ago when he was at 140 and he weighed 158, he has gotten a lot bigger since then.Originally posted by LEFTYGUNZZ View PostIf he goes from a fight night weight of say 155 or so to 180 that is about 25lbs between fights not too good...I could see that happening during a long layoff but when he is fihting 2 or 3 times a year as he is looking to do this year I can't see him getting any heavier then 170....With 3 months between fights and at least a 6 week training camp he would not have the time nor would it make sense to have to go up so high to come back down in 3 or weeks that he has off between fights....Lefty

If Hatton's an alcoholic so am I, the man likes getting pissed, big deal.
An alcoholic NEEDS to drink to feel normal.
A normal person likes to drink to feel drunk.
Cotto and Hatton work a hell of a lot harder than I do, they are entitled to enjoy themselves on their time of work

That's one reason. Another reason is because he's so good defensively that he's avoided a lot of punishment.Originally posted by Ben_London View PostI´m not ****ting on him, but look at someone like Hopkins who doesn´t drink etc and look how it has extended his career, then look at Hatton.
I don't see how a little drinking in between camps would hurt anybody unless they put on too much weight.
