This is being blown all out of proportion by the Klitschko haters, who want to see the fight on Saturday cancelled.

One in three people in the world have the hepatitus B antigen.

Hepatitis B is a common sexually-transmitted disease. Like the measles, once you have it and recover, you carry an antigen for the rest of your life, but you are no longer contagious.

Those few that do not have the antigen and have "chronic persistent hepatitis B" remain contagious but become very weak and usually don't live very long.

There is another disease called Hepatitis C which is generally not sexually transmitted and is only spread blood-to-blood. It is a retrovirus like AIDS and so there is no antigen. The retrovirus usually remains in the individual's blood for the rest of his life. However, it can often be cured by powerful drugs like interferon and ribavirin which have nasty side effects. Tommy Morrison had Hepatitis C and took the treatment.

The Finnish boxing commission claimed it was contagious but most people do not seem to believe this.

They said the test results differed greatly from those that were taken in Germany.

All this messing about is bound to get Wlad KTFO...
He is an intellectual (as opposed to a raw) fighter who relies heavilly on pre studying his opponents.. There is nothing more dangerous than a hungry opportunist substitute, & if it's a southpaw, even worse!
More to the point, HTF did Chagaev get Hep B?
Lets face it... NO ONE wants to fight in Germany... The authorities there, are a load of cheats that make Don King look like Mother Theresa...

Klitschko has been informed of the risks for at least two weeks and would not press forward with this fight if he was not comfortable. The fight will happen this Sat...

For some reason, you're not being honest. The blood test results were the same in both Finland and Germany. The Finnish Commission was just being overly cautious in their interpretation of what having a Hep B antigen means.

No, the Finnish Boxing Commission said there might be a very slim chance of a Chagaev opponent contacting it, and to be on the safe side, just recommended Valuev have a vaccination before the fight to be 100% certain. Valuev refused.

Wlad has been vaccinated for Hep B. Virtually every boxer in Germany is vaccinated against it nowadays, since Henry Akinwande and others had in in the 90s. I'm surprised Valuev hasn't been.

I was vaccinated several years ago for Hep B - I thought most people were nowadays. The vaccine is free at many clinics here in Vancouver.
