    McCall vs Lawrence is Set For August 21 in Las Vegas

    August 21, 2009 at The Orleans Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas , Nevada , The Boxing Capital of The World, will be the sight for the UNDISPUTED IBA Heavyweight Championship (Continental Belt). The newly Crowned Champion 44 year old, Oliver McCall, 52-9-0 (37 KO's) and four time Champion, will defend his IBA Heavyweight Title against former IBA Heavyweight Champion 33 year old, Franklin Lawrence, 12-1-2 (7 KO's) of Indianapolis, Indiana.               LOL! It's funny you say that.I got about 15 of his fights & even when he wins vs a tomato can he looks like he's going to cry.he fought some wilson guy before his eliminator with gomez & after he won the referee raised his had & he had tears in his eyes.the commentators were laughing & said"oh no! Here we go again".it was very comical.mccall came out of retirement cause his son is fighting & he trains with him & they are going to be on the same cards.that must be exciting for him to train & fight at the SAME time.he must be very proud & you know his boy won't make the same mistakes as dad.Rahman has being training with his son too & from what I hear he's doing very well in amateurs.he's going to be a big boy as well.we could have 2 father/son boxing families fighting.that's great that they can be active on the same cards as their sons...that's so neat.

                In McCall's early days he was a good fighter, I remember his fight against Bruce Seldon that was a good one. But by the time of the Bruno fight he was crying on his way into the ring.
