    Just rewatched Margarito vs Clottey.....

Damn that was a draw! when they fought I saw it 116-112, today I saw it a draw, first 4 rds were Clottey's and so was 10 and 12. Margarito probably threw over a 1000 punches in that fight, stamina is out there. how'd you score it?

I had it five rounds to seven for Margarito. 115-113, Clottey messed his hand up there.

I did too. It's funny how someone can get somany punches off on an opponent right in front of them and look like ****.

7-5 margarito is the absolute most he could have recieved.

Clottey landed probably 80% of the clean punches in that fight, and if you look at Margarito's face at the end he looked like the loser, his face was red and puffy and his ear was bleeding whereas Clottey didn't have a scratch.

There is alot of gray area in boxing because in Clottey's fights against Cotto and Margarito he absolutely got the better of those guys, landed the cleaner , harder punches and took a minimal amount of damage himself... but his opponents had a higher activity level which impresses the judges (most of whom have never even boxed themselves) . I don't think Clottey did enough to win the Margarito fight but he absolutely did enough to win the Cotto fight. Clottey is one of the best technical fighters in the game!

Great thread! I also had that fight a draw when I scored it but you have to be really observant to appreciate the work Clottey does and the subtleties of effective work done, unfortunately a lot of judges can't/don't do that, hence incompetent scoring...
