I was betting all my points w/ Larry on it. I thought Marquez had a great chance. If Packy's big enough to fight Mayweather, why is JMM too small?

People are ****ing ******ed w/ that ****. Total double standard.

Lol, you're drinkin' the Packy kool aid street. I'm not sold. If the fight comes off at anything above 145 I'll bet you all my points come fight night.

Cotto doesn't have the work rate that is needed to keep up with Pac and if you think Clottey touched him from the outside, wait till you see what Pacman does.......seriously.

I know you Cotto guys are proud of your boy but he bit off more than he could chew on this one.
So you think Packy is a tougher fight than Mosley, Clottey, Tony and Judah?

Come on man. Packy's a blown up featherweight with an astute promoter who matches him correctly. Cotto's a real fighter, not a 36 year old DLH fighting w/ an IV in his arm.
And dont even get me started w/ David Diaz and Ricky Hatton.

Above 145? No way that would happen. Cotto comes in at around 165 maybe even more since he hasn't been unofficially weighed in for so long. The fight will be at 143 or 144 to make it fair.

The biggest misconception that people have about weight in boxing is that the heavier is the better.....WRONG.

This is nothing new to boxing, since Tommy Burns vs Jack Johnson, boxing has seen the little man do very well against fighters literally twice their size.

In the case of two fighters like lets say Mayweather and Marquez, I think the size does favor Mayweather but that's only because they are at similar skill level and speed to some extent but that extra size and power would give Mayweather significant advantage.

In the case of Cotto vs Pacman, I think that Cotto would have a big size difference but how would he deal with the speed disadvantage? People think that Cotto would just walk through his punches and not be hurt but believe me, Pacquiao packs a very underrated shot, just ask Hatton.

Pac would touch Cotto from the outside so much, I think cuts or even a stoppage could happen to be honest with you.

Sometimes being "smaller" is an advantage....

Yes I think he's a tougher fight for Cotto, no doubt about it. Speed kills my friend, speed kills. In the case of Marg, he was a standing target for Cotto, he just has a cast iron chin.

In the case of Mosley, I think that they are similar in speed level at this stage of Mosley's career, 10 years ago, Mosley kills Cotto IMO.

In the case of Judah, well were do I start. Talk about an underachiever....Judah is such a dissapointment, he has all the tools but fades in fights because I don't think he's ever taken this sport seriously enough. Always depended on his natural ability to win and even then, it wasn't easy for Cotto. I believe Cotto was rocked in that fight as well.

In the case of Clottey, he doesn't throw enough and to be honest with you I was shocked to see him outbox Cotto from the outside. We know Clottey has a great chin but he's not the hardest puncher nor is he the better boxer than Cotto is, or atleast we should think so.

Pac is a phenom, lets be real. I know people adore this guy and have put him to legendary status but I think Pac is no doubt the best fighter of this decade and has more than enough talent and skill to beat Cotto.

Amazing statement. I couldnt disagree more. His status is a mirage due to Arum's clever matchmaking.
Incidentally, how did you score the two Marquez fights?

What's so amazing about it? The guy has proven himself time and time again.

As far as the Marquez fights, I was ok with the first one being a draw but I did score the second one for Marquez. That doesn't take anything away from Pac tho, Marquez is IMO the best pure boxer in the sport today.

I just think that people automatically assume that being undersized is a huge dissadvantage and I think when you have the speed advantage that Pac will have over Cotto, it will be more than enough.

I dont know about whooping pac. It will be a tough fight. You have to open your eyes to the fact that cotto is not as fast as pac. Pac is a very clever boxer, he is nice. I wouldnt be mad if either of them win because they are my 2 fav boxers right now but neither of them is going to blow one another out the water that easily.
