Froch-Hopkins at the O2, or Adamek-Hopkins at the Prudential Center would be good money.
Dawson doesn't draw nearly as well.Comment

That's right Dawson is champ. Hopkins doesn't have a belt and he doesn't care about belts at this point of his career. He's looking for the biggest possible payday, which clearly isn't dawson, or retirement. I basically think of Hopkins as being retired with a small window of opportunity that he may fight one more time.Comment

Oh ok sir, I'll tell Bernard right away of your demands!!
my whole point is its not a matter of someone "mannig up and fighting hopkins" its a matter of hopkins not cherrypicking at this point
Fighting Dawson will get hopkins a whopping $38 in his bank account. Hops has earned the right to decide who he wants to fight, more so than just about anyone in the sport. He's fought nothing but pound 4 pound fighters and doesn't take tune up fights.Last edited by ИATAS; 06-16-2009, 04:07 PM.Comment

If cherry picking is picking money over no money at the age of 44 years old after proving yourself time and time again, then jesus f uckin christ let the man cherry pick.

You got a point.
Chad D brings no money.
Hopkins is on the verge of retirement imo.Comment

Mosely's destruction of Margarito is more impressive than any fight or performance Floyd has ever had. Period.
The problem: it was so impressive, and Margarito was so feared and avoided, that now Mosely is going to have a nightmarish time getting a big fight. Floyd would sell one of his children before he'd get in the ring with Mosely. Same thing with Roach/Pacman, apparently.
That's why certain fighters at the end of their careers have so much respect among boxing fans, not because of the wins/losses, but because of the fights they take and the way they fight them.
That's why Floyd will never be the respected fighter that Mosely is when both their careers are over. Floyd is not a warrior, and is not interested in fighting the most challenging, toughest fights that the fans want to see. Floyd's interested in fighting the easiest, least challenging fights- with fighters trying to move up in weight- most marketable fights that fans kinda wouldn't mind seeing, but not their first choice.
In contrast, Margarito (like Cotto did when Mosely fought him) looked to be one of the most dangerous guys to get in the ring with. Mosely jumps right in, no problem. He lost to Cotto, but he gave it his all and it was an entertaining fight. Then after he watc hes the same guy that beat him, get beaten to a pulp, THAT is the fighter he wants to fight.
You just can't say enough about Mosely and I can promise you if more fighters had his guts and fighter's mentality, there wouldn't ever be any MMA/boxing wars and discussions. Boxing would reign supreme as it used to. The problem became when fighters were able to tip-toe and drag their feet when they didn't want to fight a challenging dangerous opponent. So fans would have to wait YEARS to see their favorite fight matchups, if they ever did, and many times both fighters would be obsolete and completely different than when we SHOULD have seen them. It's the number one problem with boxing. MMA? Two dangerous fighters? You want to see them fight? BOOM, it's on PPV next month. Just like that. But with Boxing? You might wait years, and it may never happen. Mosely is a refreshing exception to that rule.Comment
