    A Reason Why PBF-JMM Ain't Sellin'

    *One reason* is the casual boxing fan doesn't know who JMM is in North America...Im a boxing fan and when I talk to other people they have no clue who he is but they know PBF, Pacman, Mosely, ect...

    Nothin against JMM but Im just sayin there is one of the many reasons it aint sellin;

    i dont know... maybe i guess....

    but to me, vegas would generally be packed with a ****load of mexican fans.... they know who he is, he's the #1 fighter from Mexico right now, i think they just can't stand Floyd and dont want anything to do with it...

    to me, no matter where the fight is, if it happens it will be a 75% pro Marquez crowd

      That is very true and sad bro.
      At the same time no one knew who Clottey was either and Cotto was able to sell 17,000+ tickets for his fight this past Saturday.
      I think it has to do with people like us who tell the casual fans how we feel about an upcoming fight. If the casual fan gats told this is not going to be a very competitive fight then why the hell are they going to dish out the money for it?

            if he's the cash cow like he claims he is it shouldnt matter. How many tickets did Oscar sell for his fight with Steve Forbes? And i can guarantee that more ppl know JMM then Steve Forbes

                aside from that he has had good showings of late with packed houses in Houston, about 8000 people for Casamayor, packed house for his rematch with Pacquiao

                granted he is the B side on all but the Casa fight but their is indeed some name recognition especially of late

                  every Mexican American knows who he is.. anyone who knows who Manny Pacquiao is knows who he is too. Anyway, how you going to put the blame on Marquez when Floyd has claimed to be the cash cow of boxing? If he is a boxing cash cow then why didn't he sell like De La Hoya did against Mayorga or Forbes? No one knew who they where.

                  What about Hatton vs. Malignaggi & Urango?.. That sold great and no casual fan knew who they where either.

                  What about Pacquiao vs David Diaz? Casual fans didn't know Diaz either.

                  Even Cotto pulled in some good numbers against Michael Jennings.

                    Good point... a lot of people would Boycott the fight because they don't like the idea of it, I mean it get's plenty of stick on this forum never mind everywhere.

                    Not saying this is the 100% guaranteed reason... it is just a thought.

                    Plus... has anybody got a very reliable source of how many tickets have been sold, not maxboxing or anything... I mean a real source from ticket sellers or some ****.
