Why the hate for cotto honestly??

Cotto is what boxing needs these days. A guy who is willing to face anyone. He brings action in his all fights no matter who is he facing. Just watch Clottey - Judah and you will never compare it to Clottey - Cotto. The guy brings what we the diehard boxing fans want to see. Haters say Clottey got robbed but why dont mention that Cotto floored this man down with a jab just like he did to gomez??

Nutthuggers that feel threatened by him and people who hate Puerto Rican fighters I'm guessing. That's the only logical explination cuz the guy is exciting to watch, fights the best opponents and win or lose, you get your money's worth.

that hot or cold part was funny lol. but yea i think its more directed at the fans. there's nutthuggers for all fighters. there's no reason to hate cotto for all the reasons you mentioned.

yes.it's only his fans.every "fan group" has his fare share of trolling fools.bottom line is, he's always gracious, and a warrior.so for your opinion of him, they should be irrelevant.

It's probably because of his fans. Really, there is little to hate about him. He fights hard with all of his heart and has good skill. He also fights whomever is placed in front of him.

But that's part of the problem and why I said LITTLE to hate about him. He fights who is placed in front of him, but what about being a bit vocal about whom you want next? Why not call out Mayweather the way Hatton did? Why not respond to the challenge when P.Will repeatedly calls you out (his fans will say P.Will is not a WW, but his fans don't decide what weight P.Will can fight at). His fans have no right to say that any other boxer is ducking someone when Cotto won't respond to challenges personally.

Also, when Cotto backpedals (which he has done against most of his top opposition), it is fighting smart. When Mayweather does it, it is running. Again, double standard...though mayweather sets up again in the middle of the ring, while Cotto circles against the rope for the entire latter half of his mega fights.

The dents in his armor are showing now. I agree with Atlas that Clottey had the fight in the bag but didn't grab it. I thought the same about the Mosley fight. You have to be willing to jump on Cotto when he is in escape mode. Perhaps that's a testament to his power, since both Clottey and Mosley seemed very reluctant to go in there and get it. Margarito didn't, which is why he won.

Oh, and that jab knockdown doesn't mean squat. Sam Peter knocked down Toney with a jab, too. SO WHAT? Clottey was knocked of balance and still, in the end, CLOTTEY was the one who gave a gift to Cotto.

Why the hate for cotto honestly??
