How on earth is that fair?

y dont u fckin ask that 2 urself? y fight lil pac when theres shane and clottey? gtfo. cotto should just 4get lil pac..its up to him if he wants to become a ***** by fighting pac
Heres the deal though , Pac wants to fight CottoHe said after the clottey fight that he was impressed by how many PRicans cotto drew to the garden. Now to my mind that isnt the full story. He wants to fight cotto because
    A) the money it would bring
    B) he probably thought that cotto looked vulnerable against clottey ( but pac fans seem to forget that cotto was fighting with one eye) and he sees an opportunity to beat cotto at a lower weight where cotto will be more vulnerable.

In the post fight interview cotto did not demand that he wanted a fight with paquiao. He said he wold fight whoever was put in front of him by his promoter Bob Arum(also pacs promoter!).Paquiao however told arum to make sure he had a fight with cotto. This would be easy to make as arum promotes cotto! You see! I just see this as an attempt from pacs team to increase his legacy by fighting a weight drained welter champ. Then pac fans wil claim pac is the greatest fighter ever and disregard the regulations put on cotto in regards to weight.

And as for pac fighting clottey , come on! pac would never take that fight.Do you think he could take the punches that clottey was giving cotto.I doubt it.

and ps you gtfo you oversensetive , blinded pac nuthugger

I cant understand the logic of people...

Pac has tested his physical limitations time and time and again... He has fought in 4 different weight classes in as many fights spaning 17 pounds within about a year... How is asking Cotto to meet him half way from lightwelter and lose a mere 3 or 4 pounds such an advantage???

If Pac is as great as they claim him to be, he should fight Cotto at 147. Beating someone before the fight isn't what I call "great". Not hating on Pac, just my 2c.

Not a big fan of Cotto but he should tell pac to come in weight if he wants him. If Pac wants to dominate all weight classes then he should be fighting at the limit of each division, no more catchweight.

I say it... I have to start smoking my **** again because some things aren't just making sense to me!

Cotto an easy fight.... yeah, that's something we've seen plenty of! I understand that Pacquio's team is starting the negotiation by throwing a number 70/30 as a starting point, but the have folks here say that Pacman in going to gobble Cotto at 144 or even 147 is just funny.

I want some of that Hatton Kool-aid. This happens every so often, hell I remember when everyone thought that Tito was going to eat Hopkins... why not, they KO's of Vargas and Joppy were so fresh. This is the same thing... Pac man (which in my opinion is #1 P4P) beats De la Hoya (Old, drained) at 147 and Hatton (aka No defense Mad Hatter) at 140 and that's it..... people fell in love, abandon all reason, and think that he can now take on Wladimir.

Folks, don't buy into the hype! Style make fight... and size usually determines what style you are going to fight. Watch the ODH fight and imagine Oscar with Cotto's energy and accuracy... enough said.

Love Pacman, I'm a fan of Cotto... but this official division "catchweight" is BS.

please, choose where you want to fight, welter or jr welter??...all this catchweight is a joke,,like a said before, what is this, super jr welter if it's held at 143?...this is starting to be ridiculous now...manny should fight either at jr or welter, not in between, and cotto with one left hook will flatten manny,i mean marquez a jr.lightweight wobbled him, messed up his face, what would a good left hook from cotto do?..i don't know who manny thinks he is,he got a gift decision against marquez, fights a no defense hatton and old,slow,weight-drained oscar and all of a sudden he thinks he's unbeatable,,please

But you must admit, it would be an interesting fight if it gets signed. Cotto does get hit and dishes it out. Not the best technically but entertaining

Fight Will Be Signature Win for Cotto

As we all know every great fighter has a signature victory. Holyfield v. Tyson, Leonard v. Hearns I, Duran v. Leonard I, Hopkins v. Trinidad, Ali v. Liston and Frazier etc... One thing that everyone has to realize is that Cotto has been through some hellish wars where he has been put to the test against the best in the welterweight division. Because of that, Cotto will be the toughest test for a great fighter in Manny Pacquiao. Cotto is not a fighter past his prime like De La Hoya. Nor is he a overrated fighter like Hatton. He will give Pacquiao a fight similar to Marques. But Cotto is a much stronger fighter then Marquez with good boxing skills. I can't take anything away from Pacquiao he is what he is, P4P the best at this time. But all great champions lose. I think this will be Cotto's signature fight. I predict Cotto will win big in the middle rounds. Still, this is a fight you don't bet your house on.
