I Know That Im The Only One and......

I know that Im going to get hated on for this but I just cant get up for Pac-Cotto right now. Even like a month before the Clottey fight when people were talking about which fight would you want to see more, Floyd-JMM or Floyd-Cotto. Even then I said that people cant act like the Cotto fight is the same fight anymore. Even with the possibility of illegal wraps, Margarito definatly killed all of Cotto's luster to me. He knocked the shine off of Cotto's ass. I said that it would be a great fight to see but its not a special fight to me anymore. All that was before the Clottey fight. Now after the Clottey fight its even moreso with Cotto. I will give him major due for his heart and say that he may have looked alot better if he hadnt been cut but I just cant get super hyped for Cotto-Pac like others are after seeing him get slaughtered and get maybe beat again in 2 of his last 3 fights. I

n one fight he got out brawled and in the other he got out boxed. The luster and shine is off. Thats why Pac is running to the fight now. He didnt really want Cotto before and if he did, Cotto would have to come down alot. Now I bet that Pac would even go to 145 to fight him because he thinks the shine is off Cotto and thats both inside & outside of the ring. Look, its a big fight and I will definatly tune in to watch it because Im a big boxing fan but this is in no way even close to the same fight it wouldve been 1 year ago. If it would be Pac now vs the Cotto from 1 year ago then it would be a super special fight and I would be super hyped. Now its just a good fight to me but who knows? I tell you one thing, I would much much much rather see Pac vs Floyd or Mosley and I would probably rather see him against Valero, Campbell, and so on. Again, I just feel like the shine is off Cotto. You get what Im saying?

I dunno. I can see where you're coming from but honestly it's hard to say. He fought Margarito and lost, and then fought a nobody that didn't allow us to see anything, and then he fought Clottey who makes everyone look bad, with a gigantic cut over his left eye.

Just keep an eye on him. He'll have his chance to shine again.

That or he'll turn into the next Gatti. Loved by all, beaten by all.

Cotto showed alot to me. To me, his fight with Clottey was a signature performance. His power was still there, Clottey faked himself out trying to weasle a deduction. His skills have improved and he's been relying on them. For as quick as Clottey was, when it matter most in the fight, Clottey couldn't land nothing meaningful on him and was getting tagged up. If Pacquaio saw a wounded animal and wanted to put him down, good for him. He has another thing coming. His jab is still fierce and his body attack is still on point. Cotto is probably one of the most accurate and precision based fighters around (silly compubox disregarded). He will get that jab in Pacquaio's face. Pacquaio will be fighting a man on a mission. I for one can't wait

The shine is still there, it just needs to be polished up.

I hope that after the Pacquaio/Cotto fight that Cotto arms up with Freddie Roach

I like the idea, because now that Manny is working with Arum, who is one of the most brilliant promoters ever, will give Manny or Cotto yet more opportunities to shine. I am torn between this fight. I want both fighters to win. I wont be angry at the results. I would really love to see Manny win because he can add yet another notch of greatness to his resume and surpass Floyd yet again by collecting SEVEN titles in SEVEN divisions.

I will still be rooting for Miguel though.

I'm not too big on this fight myself with respect to both Manny and Cotto. I think that Pac hits Cotto early and often and actually stops Cotto because he is SOO easy to hit and Manny is a southpaw. I also think that Cotto will have a HARD time making the weight and it will show come fight night. Arum is not ******, I believe that he is trying to get rid of Cotto and I think that Pac saw that his was vulnerable thats why the fight is being made soo quick. However, I think that as a man, Cotto should give Clottey his rematch. The fight was very close (as picked Cotto in a TKO 9) and it warrants a rematch at a NEUTRAL site.

Get rid of Cotto? This aint the NFL. Arum has invested huge on Cotto. I know that there have been some minor differences between the two and Cotto is trying to branch out by starting his own promotion company and Cotto's contract is up at the end of the year but to say that Arum is trying to get rid of Cotto by finally letting Cotto get some huge fights is absurd. Yes Arum is the kind of promoter who protects his fighters with well planned opposition but Cotto and his fans are not like Floyd and his fans. Cotto fans want Cotto to fight the best. You talk about rematches? Why does the rematch have to be right away? It can wait. Floyd fans are just jealouse over Floyd's ******ity and cowardice for retiring when he should have been fighting the Cotto's and the Mosleys and the Margaritos and the Clotteys but yet it was Floyd who punked out of these fights and now he is being shunned for it. Make way for the fighters who want to fight the dangerous fights and Cotto deserves this match.

Arum wants to get rid of Cotto LMAO!

Its so funny how Mayweather's name was NEVER mentioned in my post but you come right out speak about him. lol. I can talk boxing WITHOUT talking about Mayweather. Since I can do that, I will continue to in this thread. Don't bring up Mayweather when he is not the subject. Cotto as a man as a warrior should give the man a IMMEDIATE rematch BECAUSE it warrants one! You see, that how BOXING is. If the fight is CLOSE for real or a fighter gets "robbed", rematches USUALLY happen right away. You would know that if you knew ANYTHING about boxing.

skill won't be a factor if cotto uses his natural size advantage. pac doesn't have a chance if cotto is a MW on fight night.
