That fight would be more intriguing and ticket sales would not be as bad. Pac-Hatton sold because people were convinced that it could go either way, whether or not Mayweather-Marquez is an even closer fight, which is probably is, the belief is not there. The casual fan has no idea who the hell Marquez is, no matter what Mayweather says about a country being behind him. Mosley would also be better on 24-7. They should put Marquez in a seperate PPV in September 19th, maybe against an Edwin Valero or an Amir Kahn.

I doubt he wants a risky fight like that after a year and a half off.

JMM is a great fighter, but a lightweight, used to fighting jr. lightweights and lightweights.

It is a "tune-up" of sorts.
