this hate for Cotto is killing me. He just beat one of the most dangerous WW. watch Clottey's road to the top and tell me that dude wasn't for real. Cotto is a true champ. Not only do the haters refuse to give him any credit, but now all of a sudden, he's Pac food. (?) He did the right thing. and yes, without the cut, i think Cotto would have won more rounds. Clottey only landed those right hands due to his lack of vision. other than that, Cotto countered well for the situation he found himself in. i wouldnt say he is shot. if he was unable to put Jennings away i would have thought he was on his way, but he just went 12 rnds with a real contender in a tough division.
since cotto was apparently wrong for running - what should he have done?

stand in front of clottey and trade?
panic and go on the offensive?
try to ko clottey out of desperation?
or
should he have done exactly what he did and won?
i expect some seriously well thought out game plans and expert analysis since you guys are so well versed in boxing and surviving in the ring with one eye. what would floyd have done? what would margarito have done? what would zab judah have done? you guys better bring all of your boxing knowledge to this thread or hang your head in haterific/nut hugging shame since cotto was soooooo wrong for "running". so lets hear it. i will bump this thread until everyone of you hating douche bags provides a reasonable and logical answer as to what cotto should have done.Comment

i think once he found a home for his left hook, he should of tried to work it off the jab a bit more instead of waiting for Clottey to come to him and work off the ropes. Also he did some good work to the body, but just like the Margo fight he opted to headhunt. in the 11, Cotto threw a nice right uppercut. he then again tried it only a couple more times. So in my opinion i think the combination of his solid jab, the timed right uppercut, and his counter left hook could have been utilized a bit more when he found them connecting. easier said than done, i know.Comment
