Cotto deserves this fight against manny more then anybody. Cotto beat quintana, zab judah, mosely and clottey in the welterweight division. And if it wasnt for them brick hands, he would of beat margo too. Mayweather beat a washed up delahoja and a lil welterweight in hatton. You tell me who's pound for pound after manny.

But he waited until Paul Williams left the division to challenge for a title after his loss to Margarito and people say, "Oh, but he needed a cupcake fight after that beating he took." I aint buying it. Paul Williams avenged his loss to Quintana, went on to beat Winky Wright, and will probably be fighting another top opponent in the near future. Of course, Cotto had the guts to fight Clottey, and I give him credit for that. But he didn't deserve the victory. He fought through adversity, but that alone doesn't win a fight.

I had it the same as tom miller 114-113. Clottey fought a ridiculously bad strategical fight. Too much defense not enough offense. He had cotto hurt plenty of times but failed to finish. Then he goes into a fetal position in the corner & lets cotto unload on him making him steal rounds. Im no boricua, clottey lost that fight because of clottey not because of cotto.

And Arum's not trying to cash out on Cotto. Cotto's not the meal ticket. Manny is. The Hatton fight, while easier for Manny than a prospective Cotto clash, probably made more money than a fight with Cotto could.

I guess the difference is, is that Mayweather never did express any interest in fighting Cotto like Pacquiao is and did fight easier opponents than Cotto. But that doesn't mean that Cotto wouldn't get his ass tore up by Mayweather. It's pretty obvious that that Margarito beating really took the sales out of Cotto. Add the Clottey fight on top of it, and that's why you see Arum trying to cash out on Cotto. And I guess I was wrong by throwing venom at Pacquiao, because I admit I'm one of his fans even though I think his matchmaking has been a little bit opportunistic as of late. Another reason why I think I was wrong with my comment is that we haven't heard from Pacquiao or Roach on whether or not they are gonna fight Cotto. It's got nothing to do with what you say though.
