My opinions are based what I have seen with my own two eyes. That is how I can make an observation of how I see things possibly playing out. HOWEVER, I know good and well that on ANY GIVEN night ANY ONE can lose. I know that is true, I am an athlete and I have seen it with my own two bro. That is why I bumped this thread to state how I feel PREFIGHT and I want ya'll to know that. So when the outcome is finally here, I will not recant the statements that I made in this thread. I will either be right or wrong on these fights, and either way, I can live with it.

On a side note, its funny how this got turned into a Mayweather vs. Cotto thread, when this thread is really about ALL 3... people just left Manny out of the discussion...

well if there is two things we've learned since then it's that..
      1) Miguel Cotto still appears to have something left in him, though it is unclear, the cut in the Clottey fight unabled us to determine so...

      but even then

      2) Mayweather couldn't even knock out Marquez, a guy who was at super featherweight a year ago, what makes you think he'll be able to knock out Cotto

        1) I see what you are saying

        2) take a ticket, the line starts way in the back.

Everybody says this...but could the reason Clottey lost the Championship rounds...be because Miguel Cotto started landing counter left hand bombs and thats the reason why Clottey stopped opening up with straight rights...he almost went back on the ground in the 11th from a counter left hand.

Miguel Cotto won the Championship rounds...Clottey stopped throwing for a reason...and it was he didn't want to get countered...not because he loves losing...

If a fighter stops throwing punches because he doesnt want to be effectivly countered by his opponent ...I don't see how that constitutes him "throwing away" the fight...I think thats taking away from the victory of his opponent

The only thing Clottey might have effected if he continued to throw punches is another KD...like i said he stopped throwing for a reason...and you can clearly see him almost go down again in the 11th.

              Sorry it was the 12th.

as for Cotto being past it past prime or having stamina issues.... I would invite everybody to watch from the 2:47 mark of this video of the 10th 11th and 12th round of the Clottey fight....where Miguel is throwing 6 punch head combo's with speed in the 11th and a beauty of a 4 punch body head combo in the 12 again with speed...along with several huge left hands that send clottey reeling.

I would think that a past prime slow fighter with stamina issues would not be throwing double uppercuts 6 punch combos body head combinations and countering effectively with speed in the final stages of a championship fight...thats just me though.

I agree, Pac and May may not have that one punch KO power at WW against bigger WW's, but they have enough to systematically break Cotto down and stop him. Speed + Decent Power = stoppage.

I honestly don't think Cotto has peaked yet or at least isn't pass his prime. Sure he's been in some battle and didn't look as good on his last 2 fights, but i still think he'll bounce back from the same old Cotto. I'm just afraid he might do it when he fights Manny, i def. don't want that. When or if he fights Floyd, i believe he will destroy Floyd.

Any sentence that indicate Gayweather in the ring with Cotto is prohibited. In a dream it's ok.
