Clottey should be given an immediate rematch IMO. He really deserves it.

I was about to say the same thing. With Cotto supposedly looking vulnerable I think Arum will be drooling at the mouth to get him and Pac together for a big one at the end of the year. Clottey is still too much of a no name fighter to risk losing to in the rematch. He won here, on the judges cards at least, and people will have forgotten about it in a month or two or at least by the time a Pac/Cotto fight gets made, or Cotto/Mayweather.

Seeing as how close everyone says it was and with all that went down in it, to me it sounds like there should be a rematch, but it simply won't happen. Clottey needs to go after Berto, or Mosley. If he gets past either one of these, he will be the other major player, especially if it's Mosley. I can definitely see him beating Mosley as well.

Clottey u would THINK would up his work rate but i feel its just his way, built into his makeup.

Cotto would have fought more and done alot better making the fight a CLEAR win if it wasnt for the cut IMO. But then again theres every chance of a cut in a rematch

Yes, there should be a rematch. Business is business though, other options will be exercised for Cotto.

Cotto was bound to look vulnerable against a guy like Clottey, the cut made him even more vulnerable because he couldn't see Clottey's right hands coming, I thought he looked very good considering the circumstances and who he was fighting. I mean Clottey would make a lot of people look vulnerable.

I agree that people will forget about this in a couple of weeks.

I doubt Berto and Mosley want to fight him, he's too dangerous and as you said, he really isn't a big draw even though more people know who he is now. I actually wouldn't be surprised if he's matched with Margarito if/when Margarito gets his license back. It should be a pretty easy fight to make and I'm sure Clottey would take it.

He has nothing to lose, why not? Beating Clottey without su****ion of his wraps would give him some sort of credibility again.

True. I think his comeback would be derailed before it got going if he fought Clottey tho
