This ain't an excuse, you all out of all people should know.
I feel you but its not the same..Margarito was coming off a big "win" and Cotto wasnt..Marg had the momentum to win and was stopped in a one sided fight...Cotto didnt have that luxury and had to climb back up and has 2 wins since Marg...Big difference in my opinion..In any event,I think i still need to see more of Cotto to come to a conclusion..

I thought the cut played a major factor on his performance.
He was fighting with one eye.
Plus, Clottey was a tough SOB.

And what do elite fighters do when cut?? Look at Marquez & Pac when they fought each other and got cut. To me Cotto is like Diaz but better.

Clottey is tough, lot of his fans over looked Clottey. Just like I did Pac when he fought DLH.

Like I said, even if he had BOTH EYES....wouldn't make a difference when Cotto is fighting backwards. He stays on the ropes too long. I honestly think he panics at times when fighting backwards.

Cotto is not the same fighter he was. He is still very hesitant. Against Clottey all he had to do was pressure him, Clottey clams up in a shell when pressured and backs up, his output lowers dramatically.

I also believe Margs and Cotto took half of their boxing life spans out of each other in that fight, it was a true war. Problem is Margs was the more worn fighter and that may have been his last Hurrah, who knows.

I still think Cotto is a top ranked welterweight though, he needs his confidence back, and to do that he has to face his true nemesis, and that's Margarito. No one else, aside from the freak of nature pwill can really stop him in that division, mosley can be outboxed, and berto would get taken out. I don't know if Mosley took all that was left from Marg's, he got him right when he was most vulnerable, anybody who doesn't see this is an idiot. He ate Cotto leather in a war, he won the fight but may have destroyed his chin in the process.

I don't know about all that. Clottey has the style to make a fighter look bad, and that cut affected him big time. Cotto will be fine, if he hadn't been cut I think the scorecards would have been a little wider margin then what it was.
