The cut is way up in the forehead, I don't think it could bother Calderon's vision.

After suffering the cut, and getting hit by Mayol, and after the doctor assessing the cut for the 2nd time, it could be seen that Calderon was hesitant to finish the fight. He knows that it was the target and he could lose the fight by KO.

He lacks the gameness showed by Cotto. Cotto's cut was way more critical the Calderon but still he fought it all the way! That's one of a pound-for-pound performance by Cotto.

        Pound-for -pound.....With regards to Calderon? ...I don't think so!!!!

man if rodel mayol complicated calderon like that, imagine what adrian hernandez woulda done to him or ulises solis, heck even eagly kyowa
i still dont see viloria defeating him, both viloria and calderon fight like amateurs so the edge goes to calderon since he would be fighting him at his hometown

Let me tell you this smart ass. Eagle Kyowa and Ulises Solis were lucky they fought an underprepared/unprepared, undermanaged/mismanaged; confused Rodel Mayol back then. Don't say "if Adrian Hernandez fights Ivan Calderon" or "Ulises Solis fights Ivan Calderon". The real question here is what if Adrian Hernandez and Ulises Solis fought a well-prepared and healthily-managed Rodel Mayol that showed in that Ivan Calderon fight. Mayol could have knocked out Solis better than how he was knocked out by Viloria and could have toyed with that El Confesor dude like a paper doll. You will see more of the very talented Mayol now that he's in good hands. And By the way manuel vargas is just an interim champion. The legit champion is my country's Donnie "Ahas" Nietes. Segura is also an interim champion. Brahim Asloum of France is still the full champion.

That is wayyyyyyyyy up in the forehead. It does not bother his vision. It ain't critical. I could repair that with only 2 stitches.

                  Calderon is ain't GAME!!!

At least Calderon said he believes Mayol deserves a rematch. Hopefully they'll get it done soon.
