Their boxing match was ruled illegal and cancelled so Mercer said at the press conference he would fight the bout under MMA sanctioning if it meant they can fight without being arrested. He said that Sylvia challenged him to box in the first place so he should agree to only use the standup which is all Mercer has trained for. There is nothing to be proud of choking out a 48 year old boxer that trained to box you in a boxing match!

and I'm a huge MMA fan) I'm thinking it will not be looked upon favorably if a former UFC heavyweight champion in Sylvia gets completely owned in a boxing match with a 48 year old pro in Mercer. But, if it's an mma match, obviously, Sylvia's going to do the owning.
