No one is denying that Cotto was not clinching.
What we are saying is, had Tony not had his plaster wraps, he would not have been doing the damage that he did, that is all. Cotto is not a clincher but I bet he learned how to clinch now eh? Shane came into the fight thinking Tony was a powerfull puncher and they trained with that mentality. Truth is, Shane could have faught the same way Cotto did and Shane would have won. The rematch will tell the tale of just what Tony is about with his plaster vs him not having any plaster. When Tony hit Cotto, it was as if he was using bricks and when Tony hit Shane, it was as if Tony had the fists of Malignaggi. So what happend? The bricks are what happend. You will all see that from now on, a no plaster Margarito is nothing more than a human punching bag and it will show in his next fight. He will have went from hitting like king kong to punching like Malignaggi mysteriously over night. But their will be no real mystery. It was called plaster of Perez.

Mosely started working TM body off the bat..soemthing that Cotto neglected to do during the entire fight. You could tell the body shots were hurtn TM in the beginning rounds of the fight... setting up the devestating KO.. TM chin is still amazing, just when you start hurting the body the head will collapse..

He to me didn't lose his power like that..he was just hurt and the fact that Shanes D was great that night...

Lets be honest He hit him with hardly anything or even throw that many punches vs shane. Margarito having a way higher connected % vs Cotto after throwing double the amount of punches than vs Shane kind of backs me up

But.. sometimes you can just piece together certain things..

Prior to Fighting Mosley.. Margarito was often refered as things like "freak of nature" "a machine" "Unearthly"
Because let's face it.. The man is crude in the ring.. But he always has 3 things going for him.. His chin ,his stamina, and his PUNCHING..Notice how he didnt care WHERE his punches land?? This could easily be because if you are plastered.. Hitting the arms ,shoulders and body will be much more punishing than if you are just hitting with a glove..This will certainly wear man down..

But mostly.. If a man can take your bet shot.. and you cant take his.. it will destroy you mentally..

How come in the Mosley fight Margarito suddenly had no power?? Why did the punches that did land on Shane have little effect?? Mosley has a good chin..but he can be hurt and discouraged.. Shouldn't someone with "Freak of nature" power at least back the guy up?? where were those wind sucking body shots??? Those will breaking arm and shoulder punches ???

Mysteriously vanished from one fight to the next.. just like that..

NOW one thing we are CERTAIN of.. is that Margarito did not enter the Mosley fight with loaded gloves..

Simple logic would say.. that if previous to the Mosley fight.. Margarito had awesome power.. But in the Mosley fight seemed to be quite average in the power department.. The only obvious change was not having plaster.. same man, 6 months time difference from last fight, Glaring discrepancy in punch efficiency...

I ask you.. what else could it be????

This is pathetic, Margarito beat Cotto fair and square until proven differently. Besides, in that fight with Mosely no one could have taken the shots the way Marg did for 9 rounds. Had Cotto eaten those shots he'd have been gone in the first 2 rounds. Cotto couldn't deal with the pressure against Marg. The key to beating Margo is to clinch when he gets inside, stop him before he starts to smoke. Cotto neglected to clinch, he got annhilated for his negligence, but not before he put up one hell of a fight that should surely go down as one of the best Rican/Mexican battles.

What about Oscar in their first fight? They were landing bombs like the entire fight....and that was a prime Mosley btw.

Shane is stronger than Cotto, both physically and in punching power, and didn't let himself get caught by Margarito. Margarito got no leverage on his shots, and the 100 punches he landed were all love taps on the inside nothing damaging.
