Former IBF world 130 pound champion Gairy St Clair (41-10-2, 18 KOs) contacted ********* today to advise he has officially retired as a boxer. He will continue to stay in boxing as a trainer. “I had a very good career boxed several world champions and was world champion in 2006 after beating Cassius Baloyi in South Africa,” said St. Claire. “Other world champions I boxed were Vivian Harris who later became world 140 pound champion. I also boxed the great Diego Corrales in 1998 losing a twelve round decision.” St Claire was stopped for the first time in his career recently by hard punching IBF#14 Jackson Asiku in nine rounds. In 2008 he had taken the much bigger Amir Khan twelve rounds in London, England. - Fightfan.
