I agree with the TS. Clottey is not a knockout specialist. He doesn't gas out as much as some have you believe though, but a knockout win over Cotto is unlikely.

Depending on where Cotto is mentally, he has the edge with skill and power (executed through bodyshots).

Not taking anything away from Clottey, who himself is a skilled individual with heart, but i think his defense should see him through to all 12 rounds. If a knockout was to happen, i'd favour a late stoppage in favour of Cotto, but the smart money is a Cotto decision.

I don't think a Clottey win however, will be a huge shock. He is there to win, and is a top contender at 147.

I think people are makin' Cotto out to be something he aint......a slick elite skilled boxer ......Cotto breaks wills and bones........when he found out he couldnt break ol' Green Eyes he got on the bike and everybody called it boxing skills.......he couldnt break Tony's will and got broken......Gomez and Jennings were more or less sparrin' sessions held on HBO, thats all........so Cotto being the better or more skilled boxer is not so true........I rode with that myth to get bets but now its on!!!.....Cotto is NOT the better boxer of the 2 at it will show on Sat........which opponent did Cotto outbox? and win without gettin' rocked?.......if you cant name one then he's no skilled boxer like that.......like I said timing is EVERYTHING in this blood sport......and Clottey has Cotto at the right time regardless of KO% and stats.......stats are like bikinis......what they hide is vital!!!

I can't speak for everyone, just myself. I have predicted a KO win for Clottey(body shot btw).

I have my reasons.

1) Clotty does very decent work to the body, and also has a very good left hook combo to the body and head.

2) Clotty has very good handspeed.

3) Clottey has very good defense(i think Cotto will be warned for low blows in this fight, do to not being able to get to the body, like many of you think he will)

4) When Clottey counters, it counts!!!

5) He doesn't always just sit there waiting to counter...He has very good lead rights, and lead left hooks.


I have seen you do your comparison of the two. Maybe that is why you have such a hard time understanding...You gave Cotto every advantage, and made it look as if Clottey was Jennings status or something.

You yourself dont even believe that. Cotto was beating Mosley to the punch, he ws outworking shane and outbox Shane in the later rounds.


Cotto is a better, more skilled fighter than Clottey.

I mean what CLottey do better than Cotto, than Block punches with his gloves.

Power, Speed,Timming, Body Punching, Foot work,Upperbody movementt,combination punching, stamina, accuracy you name it Cotto is better at than Clottey!!!!!!!!!
