    ****** Article Snippet from RingTv.com

"Joshua Clottey isn't an elite-level boxer but the top welterweight contender from Ghana is a tough,
skilled and athletically gifted fighter who figures to test Miguel Cotto more than anyone has since the
Puerto Rican star battled Antonio Margarito. They meet for Cotto's WBO title at Madison Square Garden in New York city this Saturday."

    1. He isn't a elite level boxer for some reason, but he is a tough, skilled and athletically gifted fighter.

and of course the best part

    2. He figures to test Miguel Cotto more than anyone has since the Puerto Rican star battled Antonio Margarito.

    Hahahahaha, well no ****, eh?

Well it's true Clottey isn't considered elite, not yet anyways. He needs a big name win on his resume to put him in that category. To date his biggest win is Zab Judah. Or if you count the late Diego Corrales

Kellerman was calling him elite before he beat Judah. Didn't know you could be elite without ever winning a title in your life. Unless you are Sonny Liston and the champ wants no part of you, of course.

elite meaing "big name" then Clottey is not. But Clottey is an elite fighter at welterweight. He has the tools to beat Cotto.
