    Hall of Fame

So, how exactly do u get in it. I gather there is votes for it but thats all I know. Who votes?
Is there a minmum requirement to get there eg x number of title defences etc?

All American sports seem to have one buts its not a big thing in the UK.

Also I keep hearing "Well if Barry Mcguigan can get in then so and so should"
Is he the popular choice for worst member? If there are others who are of a lower standard than him who are they?

    Cheers in advance

Members of the Hall of Fame fall into five categories: Modern, Old-Timer, Pioneer, Non-Participant, and Observer, and are chosen by a vote of 150 boxing experts, historians, and writers. The voters hail from all parts of the globe. In order to be placed on the ballot, individuals must first clear a pre-screening committee of boxing historians. Modern fighters are additionally required to have been retired for five years. Non-participants can be elected to the Hall of Fame even if they are still active, assuming they have achieved enough in their careers to merit selection.

The board of directors of the Hall of Fame determines how many people are to be inducted each year. The candidates who accrue the most votes are those who become inductees. Ballots are mailed out on November 1 each year with the announcement of the new class of inductees coming in mid-January.

i like Barry, I'm an ulsterman, I was wandering (hoping) if there are any boxers in there that he is better than. His name gets dragged up all the time in debates about if (pick a fighters name) should be inducted. It annoys me, there's gotta be some fighters of a lower caliber than him in there.

he's a decent pundit most of the time, loves boxing, always at events working or watching. he's a couple of decent prospects at the minute too.

                  yep, from wiki:

His record was 32 wins and 3 losses, with 26 wins by knockout. In January 2005, McGuigan was elected into the International Boxing Hall of Fame. Some experts have questioned the level of competition he fought during his career, observing that he did not meet the WBC Champion Azumah Nelson of Ghana, whom noted commentator Jack McGowan of the Belfast Telegraph is convinced McGuigan would not have beaten. However, former great Sir Henry Cooper believes that McGuigan at his peak was one of the best fighters ever to have emerged from Ireland.
