I don't think Berto throws his punches as hard as he can. He seems to try more for speed than power.

Two fights ago Jacobs made it on to Sportcenter's top 10 with his knock out.

Everyone is feather fisted these days if they don't knock a guy down is every fight.

This, watching some of his fights I get the impression that he can hit with a lot more venom but he goes for composure.

As he gets more experienced and grows as a figher he will probably put more spite in his punches. It's has similar traits to Pacquiao in that when Pacquiao started out he hit really hard but lacked composure he generally got thrown of balance when throwing his straight left. Berto to me chooses not to throw as hard as he can because he doesn't want to lose balance and leave openings.

two southpaws in a row dont help... but berto concentrates on getting his hands to the target as fast as possible, but not pushing through the target

Both of those guys look like they hit pretty hard to me, but then I've seen more than just their last fight. Berto doesn't load up very often because he needs to protect his chin.

If TS is basing this on the Urango fight, then it's clear Berto sat down on his punches minimally. He was concentrating on boxing, because of Urango's a southpaw, and a fighter who can punch and pressure. He was showing he was multi-dimensional.

Berto is definetly feather fisted. He wails away at guys for 10+ rounds and it looks like he inflicts no damage at all

Jacobs on the other hand could definetly be a real legit power puncher. We will have to see how better competition takes his punches. Cause if u remember, Berto was knockign guys out cold in one or 2 rounds early in his career as well
